What We Do

The Canton Jewish Community Federation is dedicated to a spectrum of initiatives aimed at elevating and enriching the Jewish experience within the Canton area.

Our pursuits encompass:

Financial Resource Development: Through our annual Jewish Welfare Fund Campaign, we diligently seek contributions from every member of our community. Funds raised are allocated to address local, regional, national, and international needs. Additionally, our Endowment Funds Committee oversees dedicated gifts from community members, serving as a vital resource for our collective initiatives. These endowments may take various forms, including lifetime gifts, bequests, life income plans, trusts, letters of intent, and other charitable vehicles.

Jewish Family Services: Our professional services cater to the needs of individuals and families within our community. We curate a diverse range of weekly and monthly programs, including local excursions, luncheons, and engaging guest speaker events.

Jewish Education: We are steadfast in providing comprehensive Holocaust education and fostering an appreciation for Jewish history. Throughout the year, we orchestrate special events and programs aimed at enlightening and engaging our members.

Communications: The Stark Jewish News magazine serves as a dedicated platform for our community, addressing pertinent issues and showcasing impactful programs. Our SJN Directory serves as a printed compendium, documenting the programs and members of Jewish institutions in Stark County. Furthermore, our weekly E-Newsletter keeps the community abreast of upcoming events and programs.

Israel Programming: As an integral part of the Western Galilee Partnership2Gether community, we actively participate in reciprocal programming, missions, collaborations, and networking opportunities with Israel.
